BOC: Army units will be in charge of the security file in al-Sadr City

    Baghdad Operations Command confirmed on Saturday, that the army units will be in charge of the security file in al-Sadr City.
     
    Baghdad Operations Commander Lieutenant-General Ahmed Salim told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "work is underway to switch units in al-Sadr City, noting that "the 4th Brigade of the Federal Police was moved from its current location in Sadr City to hold Al-Madain sector, and the 42nd Infantry brigade in the 11th Division of the Al-Madaen sector were relocated to join his division in al-Sadr City, to be in charge of the entire security file inside the city.
     
    Salim pointed out that regarding the talk about the presence of a car bomb or a suicide bomber in Baghdad, BOC deals with intelligence information or information that obtained from some sources and scrutinizes them to be followed up.
     
    Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, issued an order assigning two new commanders for the Karkh and Rusafa operations.
     
    Al-Kadhimi’s order stated: “Major-General Saad Mohsen Uraibi was transferred from the position of commander of the Sixth Division and assigned the tasks of the position of commander of the advanced headquarters of BOC of Karkh side , and the assignment of Major General Thafer Abdul Radi with the tasks of the position of commander of the advanced headquarters of BOC of Rusafa side.
