The financial advisor to the prime minister, Mazhar Mohammad Salih, announced on Thursday, that China consumes 44 percent of Iraqi oil exports.
Salih told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "China is the first market of Iraqi oil exports, as it is alone consumes about 40-44% of Iraqi oil exports, with about 80,000 barrels of oil per day.
Salih added that small part of those exports are the dues of oil service contracts for Chinese companies operating in Iraq, to which 100 thousand barrels per day were recently added, deposited in the bank account for the implementation of the cooperation framework agreement projects that became effective last month.
