The Agency of Intelligence and Federal Investigations (AIFI) announced on Monday, arresting a criminal group that carried out number of terrorist attacks in Babil province.
The Security Media Cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that the detachments of AIFI at the Ministry of Interior were able to arrest a group of five accused in Babil province, indicating that all the accused are wanted in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law.
After interrogation with the accused, they confessed carrying out several terrorist attacks to intimidate the citizens, as among their attacks they targeted the house of the former police chief of Babil province, the retired Major General (Ali Kawa Al-Zughaibi) with grenade, and another attack by a grenade on the house of one of the of a citizen in the western Hamza area, Pointing out that they pursued the same citizen in (Abu Khustawi) area and attacked him with grenade and AK-47 riffles , SMC added.
