Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi inaugurated today, Wednesday, the Samarra Steam Power Station, while stressing that the station will provide job opportunities for more than 1,400 Iraqi citizens.

Al-Kazemi said: The first phase of the station has been completed despite all the present challenges, especially the economic crisis and the effects of the Corona pandemic," noting that "the second phase will be completed during the remaining months of this year, and we will enter it into the national network.

He added, "The station will supply the national production network with up to 1260 megawatts of electricity, and will serve the regions of northern Baghdad and Salah al-Din with more electrical energy production," noting that "we are working hard to develop the Samarra station with a new contract within the Chinese agreement to add a third phase to the station

And he added, "The station will provide job opportunities for more than 1,400 Iraqi citizens who are specialists and experienced," explaining that the lagging stations were a challenge to us during the past year, and we worked very hard to complete them

Al-Kazemi confirmed, "We opened a few days ago the Nasiriyah power station, and today we are opening the Samarra station, and there are new station projects in the south, center and north," noting that "one of our priorities is to support the areas liberated from the clutches of ISIS, and the reconstruction of distribution networks and electrical stations that were damaged

And he indicated that "the battle of reconstruction and the provision of services is the real field to prove performance," explaining that "this station is part of the actions, as the citizen is tired of hearing words without concrete action.

He expressed his thanks to "all the technical staff, workers, ministers and managers who made their utmost efforts to complete this station," calling on their colleagues in other stations to "accelerate their work so that the Iraqi citizen sees an improvement in the field of electricity under hot summer conditions.

He pointed out that a large number of licenses in the Investment Authority were withdrawn, due to the dilatory of those licenses projects, because we want real projects that benefit the country and the citizen.
