Ministry of Interior confirmed on Monday its continues efforts to confront threats, prosecute instigators and hate-mongers and refer them to the Judiciary.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Major General Khaled Al-Muhanna, stated to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the security forces are continuing their efforts to protect all institutions and citizens, adding that MOI warned about the misuse of social media by inciting hatred.
Al-Muhanna also mentioned, that hate crimes fall within the violations of Iraqi Penal Code, Therefore, whoever is proven to have carried out such kind of acts will be prosecuted and referred to the competent courts.
Earlier, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee alerted of plans to strike Iraqi society through provoking hate crimes, pointing out that ISIS terrorist gangs are trying to compensate their failure by adopting such moves.
