Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein received a copy of the credentials of Elbrus Kontrachev as Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Baghdad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Wednesday, that "the two sides held talks on ways to improve bilateral relations between the two countries, and the importance of enhancing cooperation opportunities at various levels to meet the aspirations of the two peoples."
He added, "The Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed during the meeting the ministry's readiness to provide all conditions that would enable him to perform his duties to the fullest."
Hussein praised the high level of coordination between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism, the work of Russian companies to build and develop the Iraqi infrastructure in the oil and electricity sector, in addition to scientific and technical cooperation.
For his part, the Russian ambassador affirmed his country's interest in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, and the willingness to cooperate in all fields, indicating his country's keenness to coordinate and continuously consult with Iraq on various issues of common interest.
