The meeting of the UN Security Council will be attended by representatives of Palestine and Israel .

The US permanent representative to the United Nations, Linda Thomas Greenfield, announced that the UN Security Council will hold an open session to discuss the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip on Sunday .

The meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories will be the third of its kind in one week, against the backdrop of the escalation in Gaza and the confrontations in Jerusalem and the West Bank .
