The General Director of the General Company for Grain Trade, Abdul Rahman Al-Jwaibrawi, announced a forced increase in the quantities of wheat marketed from last year.
In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Juabrawi said today, Sunday, that "the quantities of wheat that were marketed by farmers and marketers were received in the company's stores in the governorates of Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Wasit, Muthanna, Najaf, Diwaniyah, Karbala and Babil. And Rusafa in Baghdad has reached (353,815) thousand tons so far.
"Two weeks after the start of the wheat marketing campaign, the pace of marketing has escalated in all governorates, and the quantities marketed in the 2021 season exceeded last year by nearly 220 thousand tons," he added.
Al-Jwaibrawi revealed, "The total quantities of first-class wheat that were marketed amounted to more than (303,108) thousand tons, while the quantity of second-class wheat reached (50,021) thousand tons, as for the third-class wheat that was marketed amounted to (686,240) thousand tons."
