A non-governmental organization "SOS Mediterranean" announced that it had spotted about 10 bodies floating near the Libyan coast near a rubber boat that had turned upside down, with 130 migrants on board.
The European Relief Organization said that it received a report last Tuesday from "Alarm Fon", the volunteer body that runs a "hotline" for rescue operations in the Mediterranean, about migrants suffering from difficulties and the presence of three boats in international waters off Libya.
"SOS Mediterranean" stated that its rescue ship "Ocean Viking", in addition to two other cargo ships, headed to the region in stormy weather, with waves reaching a height of 6 meters.
In the beginning, one of the two cargo ships detected 3 bodies before the European Union Frontex Agency to monitor the external borders of the European Union found the rubber boat.
"Since our arrival at the scene today, we have not found any survivors, while we were able to see at least ten bodies near the wreck of the boat," said Luerza Alpera, the search and rescue coordinator on board the Ocean Viking, in a statement.
