Louis Ferrer, the former Paris Saint-Germain scout, revealed the scenes of the contract with Kylian Mbappe from the ranks of Monaco, despite Real Madrid's strong interest in joining him.
"My idea with Antero Henrique was to tell Mbappe to play in the first team for Paris, because the World Cup was coming and we could offer him a position that could not be promised at Real Madrid," Ferrer said in statements published in Mundo Deportivo.
He added, "We had to work hard, because we knew that his dream was Real Madrid, and we promised him that he would play because we believed in his talent."
He noted, "It was strange because I was never a player any longer that he would play, but then coach Unai Emery said his word."
He continued, "We lived months of work, we knew that Mbappe was Real Madrid's priority, and the royal team was trying to convince him."
He explained, "We could not sign with him because of the rules of fair financial play after the Neymar deal. We had to find ideas and be adept to settle the deal, and everyone really followed, Unai and the president cooperated to complete the deal."
