The Spanish coach Pep Guardiola reached the Manchester City coach in the Champions League final for the eighth time in his history as a coach, after he led the Premier League leaders to this role by beating Borussia Dortmund.
OPTA statistics stated that Guardiola is tied with Portuguese rivals Jose Mourinho, the current Tottenham Hotspur coach at the top of the coaches who led their clubs to this role in the tournament.
City, who knocked out the tournament from the quarter-finals in the last three years, will meet Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final, after eliminating French champions Bayern Munich from the quarter-finals.
This is the first time that Guardiola has led City to the semi-finals after leaving the tournament from the quarter-finals in the last three seasons.
