Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi and Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis stressed, on Sunday, the necessity of continuing joint political action.
The media office of the Speaker of Parliament said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi received the Vice President, Federal Counselor and Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis and his accompanying delegation, which included a number of members of the Swiss House of Representatives."
The statement added, "During the meeting, there was discussion of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Switzerland and means of cooperation according to common interests, the importance of activating friendship committees between the two parliaments, and emphasizing the continuation of joint political action, through the Memorandum of Understanding for the political consultations that were signed between the two countries."
