Ministry of Interior – MOI announced the legal requirements for foreign security companies operating in the country.
"The work of the security companies was regulated after the approval of the Companies Law NO.50, 2017," said the ministry's spokesman, Major General Khalid Al-Mhanna, to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), on Sunday.
He added, "special conditions are set for granting licenses to local Iraqi companies and there are special legal conditions for foreign companies or Its branches are in Iraq,"
Al-Mhanna explained, "Among the conditions is that the license is lifted by local companies to the National Security Council to be approved for the certificate.
“As for foreign companies, the matter is presented to the Council of Ministers and the issuance of a decision,"
“The Directorate of Security Companies conducts periodic follow-up and inspection campaigns on these companies," noted Al-Mhanna, pointing out that "these companies are not allowed to carry out any activities or tasks without those exclusively assigned to them, as well as forbidding the use of wheels and weapons for any other purposes,"
