Ministry of Transport – MOT denied that the engine of one of the planes heading from Baghdad to India had stopped.
"What has been circulated in some news agencies and social media sites about a malfunction in one of the engines of the national transport plane heading from Baghdad to India, is untrue" according to a statement by MOT, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The General Company for Iraqi Airways flights did not include any flight on March 27 to India.
"All flights carried out by air fleet departed and returned on their scheduled times without any delay," included the statement.
The ministry called on the media and bloggers on social media platforms to make sure of the official source of the information before it is broadcast and not to mislead the public opinion.
