General Secretariat of the Cabinet announced that PM Mustafa Al-Kadhimi approved to form a committee to rehabilitate and develop the ancient city of Ur.
“The Cabinet, based on the approval of al-Kadhimi, decided to form a committee under the supervision of the Secretary-General of the Cabinet, to undertake the elaboration of ideas and plans for the project of rehabilitating and developing the ancient city of Ur, and preparing the lists and cost, and that the committee is to submit a detailed semi-monthly report to the Secretary General of the Cabinet," included a statement issued by the secretariat received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
According to the statement, the decision includes assigning the presidency of the committee to the General Secretariat of the Cabinet, and its membership includes representatives from the Prime Minister’s office, Dhi Qar Governorate, the ministries of Interior, Construction, Housing, Public Works, Municipalities, Culture, and Finance, as well as the Municipal And Service departments in Dhi Qar.
