The Ministry of Interior confirmed today, Thursday that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) is an official state institution.
An Interior Ministry statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "within the framework of the executive tasks and duties stipulated in the constitution based mainly on maintaining security and stability, strengthening community peace and combating crime and outlaw phenomena, the Ministry of Interior would like to show that it is continuing its work with its security, military and service aspects.”.
He pointed out that "the ministry will spare no effort by working honestly and professionally with the aim of spreading the atmosphere of peace and notifying our honorable citizens of the reassurance and prestige of the state and the nobility of its institutions.
Many files have been seen in this, most of them have been resolved, and work is still underway in the other part of them until it is closed and resolved according to legal controls and procedures."
MOI also affirmed, according to its statement, that "the Popular Mobilization Authority is an official institution of the state that supports the efforts of the Ministry of the Interior and supports it in everything that promotes community peace and rejects every illegal practice or approach that some may introduce."
