Karim Wasfi: I can present European music in an Iraqi style

Maestro Karim Wasfi compositions for the Symphony Orchestra are divided between his oriental spirit and his Western performance, which leads to the question, "Is there an oriental symphony?"
The Maestro answered my description, "Certainly work on an art that is based on Western; it requires those who deal with it to reincarnate the Western spirit, even if it is Eastern, so I compose according to the requirements of the symphony, but my Iraqiness appears in the subconscious," pointing out that "this is good because my basic composition completes a space of intellectual communication with the traditions of the world.”
He added, "My music is originally a harmonious tapestry of the Mesopotamian heritage, mixed with my global experience, from Mosul, Baghdad, the countryside of Iraq, Geneva and Washington, realizing a global identity for the originality of Iraqi art in the most beautiful way. “Local art takes on a global form, and the artistic expression of global works with a local philosophy.
