Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi discussed and the US ambassador to Iraq Matthew Toller, discussed strengthening procedures that allow Daesh to be tried before Iraqi courts for their crimes.
During the meeting, both discussed bilateral relations and strengthening the continuation of security cooperation between Iraq and the United States to counter terrorism, according to the media office of the Speaker of Parliament received by Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The two sides made talks about the most important ways to enhance accountability for the crimes committed by the terrorist gangs of Daesh, which allow to be tried before Iraqi courts for their crimes that amount to war crimes against humanity and genocide, and to support the international investigation team (UNITAD) to gather evidence for those crimes.
