Al-Kadhimi: The high prices of foodstuffs are an attempt to disrupt the social situation

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed today, Tuesday, that the high prices of some foodstuffs are an attempt to disrupt the social situation.
The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Al- Kadhimi, during the cabinet session today, confirmed that the high prices of some foodstuffs that are manufactured and produced locally, are an attempt by some greedy merchants to confuse the social situation and exploit the demand. The citizens must receive the foodstuffs due to the approaching month of Ramadan, as it happens annually.
Al- Kadhimi affirmed, "Diagnosing gangs that exploit the most heinous humanitarian issues through begging, and we have directed the Ministry of Interior to follow up the issue, address it, prosecute these gangs and present them to law."
He noted that "there is a wide diplomatic movement in Iraq, and we shall have the Iraqi-Egyptian-Jordanian summit that will be held in Baghdad, and there are continuous important visits to the country, and the land of Iraq is becoming an important diplomatic center for leaders of countries in order for Iraq to play its natural pivotal role and serve the interest of our country and our people.
