The head of the Iraqi coalition, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the US ambassador, Matthew Tueller, today, Tuesday, the holding of early elections.
A statement by the office of the head of the coalition of Iraqis received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "Mr. Al-Hakim received the American ambassador and discussed with him views on developments in the Iraqi, regional and international situation, the issue of early elections and the need to hold them on time, with an emphasis on electoral security and creating a legal environment for them."
Mr. Al-Hakim stressed "the importance of activating bilateral relations between Iraq and America in the economic and cultural fields, and the importance of cooperation in issues of common interest," referring to the importance of the cross-component alliance as a success story and a strategic variable in the Iraqi political reality.
He stressed "the importance of investing everyone's desire in the national project."
