Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed today, Tuesday, to transfer the body of the deceased Kamal Mazhar Ahmed from Germany to Iraq.
Al-Kadhimi said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Iraqi historian and scholar Dr. Kamal Mazhar Ahmad has left our world today, after a long struggle with illness, and by his departure, Iraq will have lost a prominent science of thought, culture and history."
He added, "The biography of the deceased was full of academic achievements and abundant wealth in his field of research. He also left a rich legacy of research, books and studies that enriched the Iraqi intellectual life, in addition to his supervision and teaching of dozens of academics and university dissertations."
