His Holiness Pope Francis affirmed today, Friday, that the visit is a duty in a land that has suffered a lot for years.
The Pope said in a speech delivered to the consecrated persons in the Lady of Deliverance Church , which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "I embrace all of you with patriarchal affection, and I thank God for our meeting today."
He added: You, as bishops and priests, all share the joys and concerns of the faithful.
He continued: We know how easy it is to get infected with the frustration virus, yet God gave us a vaccine for it, noting that "difficulties are part of your daily life, Iraqis," pointing out that "difficulties have caused many Iraqis to migrate to their country."
