The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Tuesday, that updating the card with a biometric is necessary for free and fair elections, away from fraud and manipulation.
Salih said in a tweet followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "I updated my biometric electoral card today, in response to the election commission's call for citizens, in preparation for the upcoming detailed elections, and in response to a national public opinion calling for corrections of the tracks."
He added that "updating the card biometrically is a necessity for free and fair elections that guarantee the right to choose away from fraud and manipulation."
