The International Olympic Committee has sent a letter to the Iraqi Olympic Committee setting out the steps to be taken to reform the Iraqi Olympic situation.
The Director of the Information Office of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Hussein Ali Hussein, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Thursday, that "a message from the International Olympic Committee was sent to the two Messrs: Adnan Darjal, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Raad Hammoudi, Chairman of the outgoing Iraqi Olympic Committee." He explained that "the International Olympic Committee urged the convening of the General Assembly of the Iraqi Olympic Committee on the tenth of next February to authorize a tripartite temporary committee to manage the Iraqi Olympic work and prepare for holding electoral conferences for the emergence of a new executive office."
