MOE: power lines are under systematic attacks

The Ministry of Electricity revealed today, Sunday that it is in the process of establishing an operations room in coordination with the Air Defense Command and other military units to protect strategic electricity lines, stressing that the power lines are subjected to systematic attacks.

"The ministry conducted field visits to the Air Defense Command and the Air Force Command, and coordination was made with them, in addition to the land holding force and the military sectors, to protect the strategic lines of electricity," ministry spokesman Ahmed Musa told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

"We are now in the process of establishing an operations room that would protect strategic lines, or install thermal cameras, to monitor operations that affect power lines and transmission towers," he added.
