The head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Faleh al-Fayyad, confirmed today, Friday, that Basra Governorate represents the capital of the Popular Mobilization Forces because the best martyrs and wounded of the Popular Mobilization Forces were from Basra, indicating that the governorate constitutes the backbone of the Popular Mobilization Forces.
In a speech delivered during the great memorial festival that was held in Basra governorate on the occasion of the first anniversary of the martyrdom of the leaders of victory and attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Fayadh said, "Basra Governorate is the capital of the Popular Mobilization Forces because the best martyrs and the wounded, of a kind and number, are from Basra Governorate," indicating that Basra refused to be singled out for the martyr commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was a righteous son of this city.
