The President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih stressed today, Sunday, the necessity to provide the requirements for the success of the upcoming elections.

His media office stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "President Salih received, in two separate meetings, each of MP Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani and Representative Khaled al-Mafraji."

The statement explained, "During the two meetings, developments in the political and economic security situation in the country were discussed, and the importance of the legislative institution’s role in enacting the necessary laws related to the general situation in the country. The importance of the upcoming elections, the need to create the appropriate atmosphere for them, calm and enhance security stability, and provide all The requirements for the success of the electoral process, ensuring its integrity and preventing fraud and manipulation.

He added, "The economic conditions in the country were discussed, and the importance of working to strengthen the national economy, combat corruption and diversify sources of national income in order to face the economic crisis facing the country following the repercussions of the Corona epidemic and the decline in global oil prices, and the need to support the private sector, enhance investment in the country and provide job opportunities.”.
