President of Republic, Barham Salih, stressed the necessity of the return of all displaced Christians to their areas.

During the meeting, Salih praised the important role that Christians play in the country, their adherence to their country, their sharing of various challenges and difficulties throughout the ages, their pride in their national identity, and their steadfastness in the face of terrorism and violence like the rest of the country, according to the statement.
Salih stressed the necessity of the return of all displaced Christians to their areas in Nineveh Plains, Mosul and the rest of the cities, and that no government effort is spared to achieve this, and to ensure their participation in the political, social and cultural life of the country in a manner that guarantees the delivery of their voice and demands in the government and parliament.
The statement pointed out that "Cardinal Mar Louis Sacco expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for his continuous follow-up and support for the Christians in the country, and for his contribution to solving many of the issues and obstacles they faced during the past years,"
