Today, Sunday, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi discussed with US Ambassador Matthew Tueller bilateral relations between the two countries.
A statement by his media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Halbousi received the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller ."
He added, "The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, strengthening strategic cooperation and coordination in all fields according to mutual interests, as well as a number of issues of common interest."
For his part, the US ambassador expressed his country's "commitment and eagerness to consolidate frameworks for joint cooperation with Iraq, and to support it in a way that achieves the aspirations of its people for prosperity and stability."
