Today, Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that expectations are positive for Iraq to emerge from the list of high-risk countries this year.
Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraq has complied with all conditions and standards set by the International and Financial Working Group (FATF)."
, Stressing that "expectations are very high, that Iraq will be outside the list of high-risk countries before the end of this year."
He added, "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein sent a message to his European counterparts and the European Parliament, and this message was delivered through the ambassadors and heads of Iraqi missions in the arena of European countries, to mobilize efforts in this regard," noting that "the reactions were positive."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Iraq had received support from some European countries to remove its name from the list of high-risk countries in the field of money laundering.
