Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced its work to prepare strategic plans to cultivate the areas surrounding the marshes and its margins, noting that the plans will see the light soon.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Agriculture, Hamid Al-Nayef, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The ministry is working on preparing strategic plans that will see the light soon to cultivate the areas surrounding the marshes and their edges after completing their studies."
Al-Nayef added, “The Ministry will achieve complete self-sufficiency if this plan is implemented, in addition to increasing the production of vegetable crops doubling, in view of the humid environment in which the margins of fertile marshes are characterized and sufficient water for agriculture.”
