The Ministry of Agriculture announced the inclusion of a paragraph in the 2020 budget that allows the export of surplus, while setting its priorities for the next stage.
Ministry spokesman Hamid Al-Nayef told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) today, Tuesday, that "the ministry is waiting for the 2020 budget to vote on the paragraphs that were placed within the budget by exporting the local surplus and after obtaining the official approvals, approval will be granted to the private sector to export the surplus", pointing out that "The Ministry is concerned with ensuring food security at the current stage, after which the domestic surplus will be exported abroad."
