Today, Monday, President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, received an invitation to visit Iran.
The media office of the President of the Republic stated in a statement that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) received a copy of it, that "President Salih received a phone call from his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani.
He congratulated him on the occasion of the formation of the Iraqi government and the approaching Eid Al-Fitr, and gave him an invitation to visit Iran, and the President of the Republic promised to meet it at an appropriate time.
The statement added, "During the call, ways of strengthening bilateral relations, developing prospects for joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two neighboring peoples were discussed, and the assurance that strengthening the security and sovereignty of Iraq is of great regional and international importance is that it enhances the stability and safety of the peoples and countries of the region, as well as the importance of coordination to confront Corona pandemic and joint action to limit its spread in a way that guarantees the safety of the Iraqi, Iranian and humanitarian peoples as a whole.
