The Libyan National Army announced today, Tuesday, the destruction of a Turkish ship in the Tripoli seaport carrying weapons and ammunition. "The Turkish ship loaded with weapons and ammunition, which was docked this morning in the port of Tripoli, was destroyed," said the media center of the army's Al-Karamah Operations Room.
Brigadier Khaled Al Mahjoub, Director of the Moral Guidance Department of the General Command of the Libyan Army, said that the army bombed a Turkish ship loaded with weapons and ammunition on Tuesday for delivery to armed militias, after its arrival at the Tripoli seaport.
Al-Mahjoub said, in a statement today, that the targeting of the ship came after confirming its cargo, noting that it had come from Turkey, in clear violation of agreements banning the dispatch of weapons to Libya, and international efforts to install the cease-fire in the country.
