Protests kicked off at the site of the assassination of the martyr leader Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and his companions near Baghdad International Airport on the occasion of the 40th day of their martyrdom.
A statement of the “Popular Mobilization” website, followed by Iraqi News Agency INA included, "Large groups of citizens, political and academic figures, tribal elders, clan elders, families of martyrs and wounded, participated in the sit-in,”
The masses condemned the treacherous American crime, recalling at the same time the martyrs' heroics and their sacrifices in defending Iraq, added the statement.
