The Ministry of Industry and Minerals revealed today, Tuesday, its plan to restart sugarcane factories.
The Ministry spokesman Mortada Al-Safi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The General Company for Food Industries has started to rehabilitate parts of the sugar cane plant in Maysan Governorate," noting that "the currently cultivated area of reeds is estimated at 1,600 acres, and this year the area has been expanded by about 250 dunums. "
Al-Safi added that "the company started purchasing a quantity of damaged sugar for the purpose of recycling up to 2400 tons per hour .
