Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Al-Halboosi called on the Iraqi government to take the necessary measures to protect Iraqi sovereignty from the current violations, and to drive the country away from conflicts.
"We condemn the Iranian violation of Iraqi sovereignty at dawn today. We confirm our rejection to conflicting parties' attempt to use the Iraqi arena to settle scores," Al Halboosi said in a statement to Iraqi News Agency INA.
He added, "In this difficult circumstances, we renew our call to the Iraqi government to take the necessary political, legal and security measures to stop such attacks, and to work to protect Iraqi sovereignty from the violations, and to keep Iraq apart from the ongoing conflict, and not to be an arena for assassinations and fighting, or a party to any regional or international conflicts,"
According to the statement, al-Halboosi said “All parties must have self-restraint and prevail over wisdom, stressing the importance of the unity of the national position and the solidarity of national powers, to face challenges and supports the stability, security and interests of the country, and spare our people the scourge of wars,"
