INA – BAGHDAD
President Barham Salih met the US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale in Baghdad.
Hale emphasized his country's support for Iraq's stability and security, in addition to achieve people's aspirations to live in peace and freedom, and respect Iraq's national sovereignty.
The President pointed out the importance of international support for Iraq and the completion of the victory against terrorism.
“The solutions to the current situation in Iraq should be in response to Iraq's national decision and free from foreign interference,” Salih highlighted.
They discussed developing Iraqi-US relations, stepping up the prospects for joint cooperation and coordination in a manner that serves the mutual interest.
Furthermore, they reviewed recent political and security development regionally and globally.
The meeting was attended by the US Ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller.
