The Egyptian archaeological mission found a small royal statue in the form of "Sphinx", during the archeological survey works at Tuna Al-Jabal Cemetery in Minya Governorate.
The Director General of Antiquities of Middle Egypt, Jamal Al-Samastawi, explained that the statue is made of limestone, and its height is 35 cm, and its width is 55 cm, and the features and details of its face appear clear and beautiful. The mission also found sets of blue ceramic amulets for the idol "Ps", along with pottery utensils and collectibles of various shapes and sizes.
Survey and archaeological excavations will continue to find out the reason for the presence of the statue in this area, where during the past three years a large group of tombs and burial wells were found, which contained many stone and wooden coffins containing Ali mummies in good condition.
