Minister of Oil: Iraq retakes its place in the International Transparency Initiative

INA – BAGHDAD

Minister of Oil and the head of trusteeship council for the International Transparency Initiative, Thamir al-Gadhban asserted that the International Board of Transparency Initiative for extractive industries issued a decision of lifting the Suspension of Iraq's membership.

“This decision came after a series of regulation taken by Iraq and accomplished big progress in applying the standards of the initiative,” said al-Gadhban.

He praised the efforts exerted by everyone concerned in this work in Iraq, especially the members f the council and the national trusteeship and its keenness that Iraq must return to the initiative and develop its position in the international community.
