General Manager of the General Cement Company Hussein Mohsen Al-Khafaji revealed that the company intends to conclude a contract for the construction of a cement factory in Badoush complex in Nineveh province with two production lines and a design capacity of 4,000 tons per day.
Al-Khafaji said in a press conference that the company achieved, in cooperation with the private sector cement plants, self-sufficiency for the fourth year in a row, and provided employment opportunities, and was keen to reach production capacities beyond the needs of the local market.
He pointed out that the conclusion of a contract with the Korean company STX for the construction of a power plant with a capacity of 50 megawatts in Badoush cement complex overflowing the need for cement plants in the said complex, and supplying the national electricity surplus of electricity to serve the citizens of Mosul, stressing that the station will reach its tools within a month, and has been Preparing the ground and secondary works at the station site, to start the monument works when the materials and the Korean company cadres arrive.
