Babel Criminal Court on Wednesday sentenced to death 11 terrorists affiliated with Daesh gangs for the bombing of a vital bridge north of the province that killed a number of members of the security forces. The SoulA statement from the Supreme Judicial Council received by the Iraqi News Agency said that the first body in the Criminal Court of Babylon examined the case of eleven defendants who confessed to belonging to Daesh terrorist gangs and working in the so-called southern province.
He added that the terrorists confessed to launch an attack they called the battle of Fadhliya on a strategic bridge belonging to the area of Jurf al-Nasr, north of the province in 2014 and ended in full bombing, which led to the death of three and wounded 19 security forces stationed near it. Experts estimated the value of the bridge at about 18 billion dinars, pointing out that the terrorists have confessed to other terrorist crimes in different places and times.
