The joint Iraqi-Syrian committee agreed on Wednesday to sign a number of economic, cultural and trade agreements and open the border crossing between the two countries
The Iraqi-Syrian joint committee held its ninth session in Damascus for the period from 9/4/2019 to 10/4/2019. The meetings were held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, reflecting the nature and level of the distinguished relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement.
The two sides stressed their determination to continue to strengthen bilateral relations and improve the level of economic and trade cooperation and the importance of activating the relations and protocols signed between the two countries and turning them into reality, the two sides reviewed the reality of trade relations and stressed the importance of overcoming restrictions and obstacles to promote the volume of trade.
Pointing out that it was agreed to strengthen cooperation on the level of business activities and exchange visits of delegations and the organization of sessions, conferences, workshops and all activities that would stimulate economic cooperation between the two countries and the continuation of the memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of exhibitions signed on 28/7/2011 and active participation in Session No. (61) of Damascus International Fair as well as participation of the Syrian side in the 46th session of Damascus International Fair.
