The General Customs Authority (GAC) received the Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Kuneo Micuria, who is visiting Iraq with the aim of developing joint cooperation between the Organization and the Iraqi Government in the field of customs work and protection of cultural heritage.
The statement added that "the two-day visit to Micuria comes within the framework of providing political and international support to Iraqi customs, and harnessing the expertise and capabilities of the Organization to develop and reform the customs system in Iraq and raise it to the level of international standards, and also held several workshops, which identified the needs for the advancement of customs and that Micoria will present his final report to the Iraqi government.
