The Ministry of Health and Environment issued a warning on Sunday to Al-Ahdab Oil Company and some brick factories, for violating the required environmental conditions. Sabah Abbas Fleih; the Director of Environment at Wasit Province said in a statement (received by Ina) today: “the technical staff of the Directorate detected the infringement in draining sewage waste against environmental instructions, as well as neglecting to line evaporation ponds in the Oil Operations Center with high density polyethylene”.
Abbas Khudayer; the Director of Environment at Babil Provincesaid: “the Directorate issued a warning to three brick factories at Abo-Sumaich area; because of the dense smoke ((rising)) during operations; causing environmental and health hazards. This goes against Article 15 of the Environmental Protection and Improvement Act; that all production operations and fuel burning in the open should be processed before being sent into the air”.
