The Ministry of Interior confirmed on Wednesday that it is working to end the militarization of cities and keep only squad cars and traffic patrols on the street.
In a brief statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari said: “We seek to end the militarization of cities and keep only squad cars and traffic patrols on the street.”
Al-Shammari stressed on “applying regional security and security plans instead of military plans.”
