The Security Media Cell of the Joint Operations Command announced today, Thursday, that the bodies of 5 terrorists were found after the recent airstrike in northern Rawah, within the Jazeera Operations Command sector.
A statement by the cell received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "in continuation of yesterday's statement, Wednesday, regarding the airstrike carried out by F_16 aircraft in northern Rawah within the Jazeera Operations Command sector, a force from the 7th Division in the Jazeera Operations Command went out with a field presence by the division commander, under the supervision of the Jazeera Operations Commander and a force from the resources of the Military Intelligence Directorate's Reconnaissance Battalion and the engineering effort and under the supervision of the Targeting Cell in the Joint Operations Command to search the site of the successful airstrike, where 5 bodies of terrorists were found, one of which belongs to a leader in the terrorist ISIS, whose identity will be identified after a thorough examination of his body."
He added, "The operation also resulted in the discovery of medium and light weapons, various ammunition, explosive belts, hand grenades, logistical materials, mobile devices and criminal evidence," noting that "the search operation is still ongoing within the area of responsibility.".
The cell stressed that "the security forces are continuing to exact just retribution from the defeated terrorist groups, which have no place on the pure land of Iraq, and neither caves nor desert areas will protect them from the strikes of our men, and death is their inevitable fate."
