US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin discussed Ukraine and the Middle East issues on Wednesday.
Trump confirmed that he "had a long and very fruitful conversation with Putin," adding that "Russia and the United States will immediately begin negotiations on Ukraine."
He added, "I agreed with Putin that the relevant teams will begin negotiations immediately."
He continued, "I agreed with Putin on the desire to stop the cycle of killing in the Russia-Ukraine war, as well as the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, and the dollar."
Trump continued, "I agreed with Putin to exchange visits and I will make a phone call to Zelensky," stressing, "I asked Secretary of State and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to lead the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and I feel that they will be successful."
