Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein signed on Saturday with his counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita, a memorandum of understanding for mutual exemption from entry visas for holders of diplomatic passports between the two countries.

During a joint press conference, Hussein stressed that "there are great opportunities to enhance cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco. Launching direct flights between the two countries is important to facilitate movement and strengthen economic and investment relations," praising "the step of opening the Moroccan embassy in Baghdad, considering it an important development in the path of bilateral relations."
Hussein referred to "the depth of the historical relations between Iraq and Morocco", explaining that "Iraq was one of the first countries to recognize the Kingdom of Morocco upon its establishment," stressing that "the schedule of his visit to Morocco included an intensive program, which included discussing files in various fields, pointing to Iraq's support for the unity of Moroccan lands and the Kingdom's policies in many regional and international issues."
The meeting touched on several political, economic and trade files, where regional and international situations were reviewed, most notably the Palestinian issue and recent developments in the region.
Hussein stressed "the seriousness of the proposals related to the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza", stressing "the importance of continuing coordination with Morocco in international and regional forums".
In turn, Bourita stressed that Hussein's visit comes within the framework of the strong relations between the two countries", noting that "bilateral relations have witnessed a remarkable development during the recent period, especially with the reopening of embassies, which reflects the depth of ties between Iraq and Morocco," highlighting "the possibility of achieving further progress by strengthening joint economic and investment cooperation".
