Maj. Gen. Najm Abdullah Al-Jubouri, commander of Nineveh Operations discussed with ‘Barbara Manzi’ Coordinator of the UN Mission in Iraq/ Nineveh; the security and service conditions there, and steps of reconstructing the liberated areas. A statement of the Nineveh Operations command (received by Ina on Wednesday) said: “Al-Jubouri received Manzi and the accompanying delegation at the command headquarters. During the visit the security and service conditions in the city were discussed, the conditions of citizens in the refugee camps and how to give them humanitarian aid; by coordinating efforts with the camp’ management, the UN Mission’s joining the reconstruction efforts, building damaged houses. The UN Mission taking over to build some of the houses and returning their occupants. The mission praised the great role of the security forces in liberating the city from the criminal gangs and the great sacrifices”.
On his side Al-Jubouri called upon the UN Coordinator to…” convey a message to the international community; to support reconstructing the liberated areas, build the infrastructure, so the people could rise again and return to their normal lives’.
